Benefits SISTER CITIES AND FRIENDS
exists to promote the continued growth and
sustainability of member sims by increasing resident and newcomer awareness
of the features and benefits of each member sim.
GUESTS benefit by becoming aware of other quality, themed
sims in Second Life; and having direct teleport access to many different
types of activities.
OWNERS benefit by
providing broader exposure for their designers, artists, venues and events, especially
for new residents. Sister cities membership provides support
to establish growth of virtual worlds media and quality content. There is no charge to be a member of
Sister Cities and Friends Online but eligibility requirements must be
maintained. Requirements
To be eligible a sim owner must:
a) Be established with a themed sim build
b) Maintain a weekly activity schedule and growing community base
c) Provide new residents a friendly, safe, positive "first experience" of SL
d) Sign a Memo of Understanding
e) Provide sim promotional materials
f) Allow placing a networked teleport sign board in a public location on the
sim
g) Meet from time to time with an operations team member.
In return the
operations team will:
h) Add each member's promotion materials to the networked teleport sign board system
i) Maintain networked teleport sign boards on member sims and SL Help
Islands
j) Promote information sharing in an appropriate and confidential manner
between members regarding efficient operation and long-term sustainability
k) Promote information sharing between members regarding each other's
activities. Especially important is staying in touch with one of the
operations team members and having a signed memo of understanding (see below) in place. Our goal is for all members to prosper and flourish.
Promotional Materials
After being accepted as a member and returning your signed
Memo of Understanding to the team, the team will place a sign on your sim. Please provide your promotional materials as soon as possible. The team will
update the sign servers with your marketing image and information notecard,
when received.
i) Marketing image

- a good quality picture showing attractive view of all or part of
the sim with...
- large text on the image showing the Sim Name and...
- additional text saying, "Click Here!"
- if your Home Language is not English include Home Language text on
the image
- image size 512x384px or larger (aspect ratio 4x3: width 4 units, height 3
units)

Information notecard
- short readable description of the sim and its notable
features
- description in English and in sim's Home Language (if applicable)
- include name of a Contact for guest questions for the sim
- include address of Website (if applicable)
- full permissions notecard (Modify Yes; Copy Yes; Resell/Give Away Yes)
- drop notecard in-world to: Sitearm Madonna
iii) Landmark
- a landmark or slurl
close to the central arrival location of the sim
- this location should be within sight of where the sign will be placed

- if applicable (web, blog, other online presence)
- having an online presence helps promote worldwide awareness of your sim outside of SL

Memo of Understanding

The Memo of Understanding is a two-way confidentiality
agreement between all members of the resident management team and
all members of Sister Cities and
Friends in SL. The Memo of Understanding confirms in detail our intent to

TERMS:

1. Detailed information shared such as costs or names is confidential for
internal use only.
2. For broader use by each party with other staff or clients, paraphrases
without specifics are acceptable.
3. This memo of understanding may be updated by mutual agreement or ended by
either should circumstances change.
4. In particular, should any of these parties determine that their
agendas are no longer complementary they may end this agreement by simply
giving notice "I hereby end our Memo of Understanding".
5. In the event that a party dissolves the agreement, all information shared
prior to the agreement being ended remains confidential.
